Observation log
Beginner Rust servers, ranked by live players
This list shows public Rust servers whose names contain noob, beginner, newbie, new player, newcomer, learning or starter. The name is a claim, not a guarantee, so read the rules on a server's own page before you commit. A low group limit and a regular wipe schedule usually teach you more than a friendly name does.

Rank is the catalogue number: RS-070 is the 70th server on players over the last seven days. The bar under the players is how full the server is; the light curve its players hour by hour. Next wipe is an estimate (~) unless it is the force wipe (FW); hover a time for the reason.
Rankings here come from live player counts and their history, refreshed every five minutes. Nothing on this page is paid for; a server moves up only when more players are on it. Wipe timing matters more than usual on beginner servers, because nearly everyone is at the same stage. A map that wiped in the last hour is still busy with early builds; one due to wipe within the hour is not worth your first night. The Last wipe and Next wipe columns give you both. Check the Group column for a solo, duo or trio cap if you want to avoid large clans. Gather rates are often left out of the name, which usually means vanilla speeds; raised rates belong in the Modded tab, so treat an unlabelled 2x with care. Pick a server in your own region to keep ping low.
Questions
Q01How is a beginner Rust server ranked here?
By its live player count, refreshed every five minutes, and by that count's recent history. A server that holds a steady population across a wipe cycle ranks above one that spikes briefly and empties. No server pays for placement on this page.
Q02What is a good group limit for learning Rust?
Solo and duo servers are the simplest place to learn survival and building without meeting a large clan. A trio or quad cap gives you some help while still limiting team size. Check the Group column before you join.
Q03When should I join a beginner server after a wipe?
Joining within the first hour or two of a wipe puts you on the same footing as everyone else. Joining a server that is due to wipe within the hour rarely gives you time to build anything. The Last wipe and Next wipe columns show both dates.
Q04Are these servers actually new-player friendly?
The list is built from server names, not from a review of rules or behaviour, so no name guarantees protection. Some servers offer spawn protection, lower upkeep or no kill-on-sight rules; others do not. Open a server's page and read its own rules before you rely on them.
The default order is by live players, so the top row is the busiest beginner server at this moment. Use the search box, the Play style quick link or a name word to narrow the table to what you want. Search for a mode, a rate or a region word to cut the list further. If you want no combat while you learn the basics, start with a PvE server. For the least pressure from other players, try a solo server. If you prefer a fresh start on a known schedule, the just wiped list is the fastest way in.
