Observation log · official
Top ranked Rust servers
Every server in Rust that answers a public query is here, ordered by the number of players on it now. The five-minute scan supplies the count; the history behind each number does the rest. No placements are sold. The table opens unfiltered, but this page is usually reached after a browse: filter by tag, play style, region or wipe date and the ranking re-sorts to the survivors. Official servers are marked in the Tags column. Community servers fill out the rest.

Rank is the catalogue number: RS-070 is the 70th server on players over the last seven days. The bar under the players is how full the server is; the light curve its players hour by hour. Next wipe is an estimate (~) unless it is the force wipe (FW); hover a time for the reason.
The order is live population and its recent average, not preference. A server with 400 players now but a week-long median under 100 sits below a steady 250. Use the Quick links to cut by play style if you already know the mode you want. The list shows what is online at scan time; servers restarting or down are omitted until the next sweep. Wipe estimates follow observed resets, so read the Next wipe column before you commit to a long map.
Questions
Q01How are these Rust servers ranked?
By live player count from the most recent five-minute scan, with recent history informing the ordering below the top slots. A server with a large, steady population ranks above one with a spike. No server pays for a position, and the tag or filters you pick do not change the method. The count is a snapshot; the next sweep may move it.
Q02What does the official tag mean?
A server tagged official is run by Facepunch or a partner network, and it appears in the game's own Official tab. Community servers are run by anyone else. The tag helps if you want admin oversight and regular wipe rhythm, but it does not promise vanilla settings; a small number of official servers carry modded tags.
Q03Why does a server's rank change between visits?
Ranks follow population, and populations move with wipe day, time zones and restarts. A server that just wiped can climb hundreds of places within an hour. Returning five minutes later may show a different order, especially near the top where gaps are small. The history column is there to smooth the noise.
Q04Can I list my own Rust server here?
Every public server is scanned and added automatically if it responds to the query. There is no submission and no payment for placement. If your server runs a custom query port or is behind a login, it may not appear until it answers publicly. See contact for corrections.
Group limits and rates change how a large population plays. The Group column is blank at Rust's default of eight. The Rate column shows unstated servers as 1x. For a pre-filtered list, try official servers, PvE servers or the browser. Wipe dates and force wipe timing sit on the wipe schedule and countdown. The player count page shows the total on all servers right now.
