What does 5x mean on a Rust server?

It means resources gather at five times the vanilla rate: one tree yields five trees' worth of wood, and the same applies to stone, metal and sulfur. Most 5x servers also change crafting speed, stacks or kits on top. It is a modded setting, not something vanilla Rust offers.

Do 5x servers wipe more often than vanilla?

It varies by owner. Weekly and monthly schedules are the most common, and others wipe only at force wipe. Check the Next wipe column for each server's own estimate rather than assuming a fixed cycle for the rate.

Are all 5x Rust servers modded?

Nearly all of them sit in the Modded tab, because Facepunch requires servers that change gather rates to list as modded. A server advertising 5x outside that tab is not following the rule. The vanilla tag says nothing about rates; it describes how close the rest of the settings stay to standard.

Can you play solo on a 5x server?

Yes, but read the group column first. Default Rust allows teams of up to 8, and many 5x servers keep that, so you can meet groups of eight. Servers limiting teams to 2, 3 or 4 are easier to hold your own on, and searching for solo or duo in the name box finds them.

Rank is the catalogue number: RS-070 is the 70th server on players over the last seven days. The bar under the players is how full the server is; the light curve its players hour by hour. Next wipe is an estimate (~) unless it is the force wipe (FW); hover a time for the reason.
